Print out these Candy Cane Story Hang Tags. Help children attach them to candy canes and hand them out to parents and guests to your class. Perhaps you would like to hand them out at a nursing home or hospital. Tell this Candy Cane Story.

THURSDAY

Wise Men

Their Gifts were Prophetic of Christ's Life on Earth

Make this Three Kings Crafts for Kids. The Gift
What can I give Him
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring Him a lamb.
If I were a wise man,
I would do my part,
But what can I give Him?
Give Him my heart.

FRIDAY

Candles

Jesus came as Light of the World

Add Candles to the Playdough Table. The kids can roll out candles, make candle holders, or make birthday cakes for Jesus. Compare different types of candles. Gather many different types of candles. Talk about the color, size, and shape of each one. Depending on your class and and set-up, you may want to light them or not. I use a candle-shaped lamp instead of lighting a real one.

Candy Cane Poem

Jesus Gentle Shepherd,
the cane of red and white
proclaims the sweet love story
born on Christmas night
This cane, you see, when turned around
begins your name of Love
and now becomes a symbol
of peace proclaimed above
The lively peppermint flavor
is the regal gift of spice
The white is your purity
and the red your sacrifice.
And so this cane reminds us
of just how much you care
and like your Christmas Gift to us
it's meant for all to share
"The True Meaning of Christmas.

Make Wise Men Gifts-- Wrap blocks and put them under your tree.

Make your own Nativity Scene: Cut out pictures of the Holy Family, Wise Men, and Shephards from old Christmas cards and glue on to a piece of blue construction paper. Give each child 4 popsicle stick to glue in a house shape around the Holy family.

Get glow in the dark stars and tape them to your classroom ceiling. Talk about how the bright star led the Wise Men to the baby Jesus.

Please take a moment to read Pamm's House Site Disclaimer. Thanks!

I feel it's important to have a nativity scene the children can touch and to tell the story with. Tell the Christmas story every day between Thanksgiving and Christmas using the scene, then give the children a chance to explore the figures and to tell the story.

All praise and glory go to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Apart from Him, I could do nothing. (John 15:5)
