Spread a Checked Tablecloth out on the floor. Have snack and get out some plastic ants. Let the children explore the ants and explain how the ants carry off the crumbs. |
Catch some Ants to Observe. Do not keep them caged any longer than you need to. Feed Ants drops of honey or bits of raw meat, apples and bananas. |

Ants on a Plate: Glue cut-out pictures of food onto paper plates. Draw ants or add ant stickers. |
Marching Ants: March around and pretend to be ants. |
WEDNESDAY |
Teach all or some of this God Made Families at DLTK-Bible. |
Choose one or more activies from The Story of Cain and Abel at DLTK-Bible. |
THURSDAY |
Go on a Hike to collect nature items. Make a Nature Collage by putting leaves, sticks, small rocks, dirt, etc. on clear contact paper. Cover with another sheet of clear contact paper. |
Sing and march to The Ants Go Marching. Set up some obsticals to march around, over, under, and through. |
FRIDAY |
Ant Art: Paint watered down glue onto construction paper. Sprinkle some sand on the paper. Older children can scrape tunnles. Glue plastic or paper ants on or add ant stickers to the paper. |
Bring out the Checked Table Cloth and toss bean bags onto it. Stand around the primiter and toss, everyone get on one side and toss, toss one by one, etc. |

Ant Hill Fingerplay
Once I saw an anthill (make hill with arms)
With no ants about (shrug shoulders)

Then as if the little ants (rub chin like thinking)
Had heard my call (put hand on ear)
One, two, three, four, five came out, (count on hands)
And that was all (jump up). |
